Go Through The Useful Nikon 50mm 1.8 Review And Learn Why This Lens Is Such A Joy To Use

No Nikon 50mm 1.8 review will be complete without stating the extremely crisp pictures that this lens delivers, all for a very cheap cost.

The focal length of 50mm is supposedly the closest in scope and depth to what the human eye perceives, and as such it has experienced many years in the spotlight as an effective general purpose lens, doubling as a 75mm portraiture lens on an APS-C DSLR body.

And also great picture quality and reasonable price, this lens is fairly light weight and small enough that it will simply fit in your jeans, making it a great portable lens for no additional effort.

Optically, the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens includes 6 elements organized in 5 sets (with the aperture mechanism featuring 7 diaphragm blades). The minimum length of focusing is 0.45m and the filter dimension is 52mm.

As was stated earlier, this lens is quite small at only 64x39mm and light at only 155g.

You may think that since this lens is so inexpensive, that its image quality must be inferior as well. However, the quality of this lens is quite good with a combination of metal and polycarbonate as the key elements.

The fairly small rubber focus ring has a really smooth focus and the front section does not rotate with a polarizer connected so this is another good thing too - we all know how irritating a rotating front portion with a polarizer could be.

Overall the Nikon 50mm 1.8 does not have the same popularity that a lot of the flagship Nikon lenses do, but it is still a quiet and very competent performer in its own way.

It does not come up short badly in any particular area, possibly the only bad point could be that it is soft on the borders wide open and perhaps contains a slight contrast deficiency too.

Of course for the rate, these minor details can easily be overlooked when buying this wonderful Nikkor 50mm 1.8.
